The world of shopping is at a crossroads. While online sales are growing at runaway speed, many businesses are finding themselves left behind, discovering that what has worked so long in offline does not work online, and what works online does not necessarily translate offline: it simply doesn't click.

Packed with tips, guidance and real-world case studies from online niche stores Bellabox and Facetache to the universal appeal of Groupon, and from offline discount stores Dollar Tree and Poundland to the luxury Selfridges in this informative book internet psychologist Graham Jones reveals:

* Why most online shopping carts are abandoned before a purchase is ever made and how to stop this happening in your store
* Why having a centrally positioned search box aids navigation and increases sales
* Why offering free shipping online pays off
* Why it makes sense to be sociable

He also reveals the why of consumer behaviour online, how it differs from offline behaviour, and how you can use this understanding to create a store that connects with and engages your customers on both a practical and a psychological level a store that demonstrates true clickology.

Using an accessible five-step CLICK system for turning clicks into dollars, the book shows how to learn from the experience of both on- and offline, and apply lessons to both. Whether you re running a small business website or that of a big corporation, whether you're operating purely online or offline too, Clickology shows you how to thrive.

Clickology promises to teach you what works in online shopping, and Jones' lucid writing and his simple explanations of the psychological concepts that guide users around the internet in search of products do just that. Packed with advice and information, it's backed up by thorough citations and excellent case studies. (Social Bookshelves)A book worth buying, reading and sharing with your team. A good informative read... that may well turn on light bulbs. (Direct Commerce)This is a great read. (Phil Jesson, Deputy Chairman, Academy for Chief Executives)Amongst the countless so called gurus who promise to reveal the secrets of making money online, it makes a refreshing change to finally discover the actual facts about what really makes the difference between commercial success and commercial failure. This book is a result of Graham Jones' expert knowledge and extensive research into the psychology of the internet. If you are serious about your online business then you must read it. (Simon Hazeldine, Founder of Sellcius, The Online Hotspot for Sales Professionals)This book provides insights into what makes an online store really work. It is packed with tips, guidance and real-life case studies from online boutique beauty store, Bellabox, to the mighty Groupon. I am familiar with Graham Jones work and was therefore looking forward to reading this book. I was not disappointed! He is technically very sound but, more than that, he is at the leading edge of thinking in all "psychological" aspects of customer behaviour on the web. A great read with plenty of practical advice to help our customers "click their way" to improving our profitability

Disclaimer: While I aim to be unbiased, I received a copy of this for free to review.Click.ology promises to teach you what works in online shopping, and it's written by a guy who ought to know his stuff - Graham Jones, 'the internet psychologist'. I was skeptical at first, but I quickly came round to Jones' lucid writing and his simple explanations of the psychological concepts which guide users around the internet in search of products.Packed with advice and information, it's backed up by thorough citations and excellent case studies, like that of Meat Pack. Meat Pack is a Guatemalan shoe store chain, which used location-based mobile marketing to 'steal' customers from rival stores. When one of their app users entered a rival shop, the app knew where they were and delivered an offer for 99% off at Meat Pack. The catch? The discount reduced by 1% every second, giving people about a minute and a half to run to the store. And run, they did - over 600 people claimed their discount in the first week alone.

Graham Jones is one of those most elusive of authors, one who has a supreme technical command of his subject whilst having the ability to put things over to ordinary business people in language that we can understand. This book is elegantly structured and covers the exciting web world in an invigorating manner. It is understandable and the messages contained within it are clear and memorable.I recommend this book to anyone taking their first steps into the online marketing world .... and, indeed, to anyone currently backtracking to start again after a false dawn!Reg Aldridge, proprietor, www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk

I have been getting weekly newsletters from Graham Jones for several years, and so when I realised he'd written this, I was already half sold. It doesn't disappoint. He is one of the few emails I open with anticipation of good, interesting & useful info. I have often forwarded his newsletters on to friends if the subject suits them. I very rarely forward on other emails, most people get too many, but his are always worth a read. This book lives up to his usual over delivery. I highly recommend anything Graham writes. He is wide ranging in his breadth of information given, and has a practical hands on approach I find very helpful.

Jones manages to write a rather good book on a subject where there is a lot of twaddle written. His style is clear, simple and uncomplicated. He doesn't make a song and dance about his point of view where many others would. The content is worthy of reading outside of the narrow sub-title "What works in Online Shopping". great chapters on negotiation, discounting, pricing and consumer psychology. You won't be disappointed.

Graham Jones produces quality work on a regular basis. I read his weekly newsletter and often find some great nuggets of information every time and hence I was delighted to read his book Click.ology and discover even more nuggets. The book is written in a very conversational tone and Graham tackles a complex subject in a straight forward manner. His book has certainly made me think about the opportunities from understanding the world of online sales.

If you're new or starting out in ecommerce this is a great book to help guide your principles in how you set up your online shop. Even for those more experienced in the industry there is plenty of food for thought and ideas to reenergise your ecommerce strategy. I really enjoyed the book and unlike many books related to ecommerce the principles in this book will stand the test of time even in 10 years.

Amongst the countless so called gurus who promise to reveal the secrets of making money on-line, it makes a refreshing change to finally discover the facts about what really makes the difference between commercial success and commercial failure. Good to see a book that is based upon research into what the very best on-line retailers actually do to make their websites so successful.
